Aunty Lynne & Uncle Joel's wedding rehearsal

This Tuesday was Aunty Lynne and Uncle Joel's wedding rehearsal. Mama took me to Wesley Methodist Church at Fort Canning. Papa dropped us there and had to go home for a tele-conference at 9pm so it was Mama and me only.

We arrived late at the church but was in time for the rehearsal for the march down. As usual, I needed some time to warm up upon seeing so many strangers, especially. I had to hold Denzel gor gor's hand and walked down the aisle.

Of course, holding hands with such a charming and sweet boy was my pleasure. But I was in a dilemma; I was feeling intimidated by the crowd and all too. So I called for mama too. Poor Mama gotta squeeze her fat bum between the aisles with us! Halfway walking, I also cried for Mama. So Mama had to carry me and did her walk as well.

Let's hope I can finish the walk with Denzel gor gor this Saturday just like I did well at Kow Fu's wedding.

But that night, I soon warmed up to Denzel gor gor. Mama loved his American accent and captivating smile. He was born in Singapore, but went to US with his parents and brother after a few years old. Their maternal grandparents are Mama's home church's pastors.

Anyways, back to us. I enjoyed asking Denzel to hold my hands. When Aunty Lynne and Uncle Joel were rehearsing their vows, we just played at the altar. Jumping and walking up and down the platform. Mama expected that I would fall and I sure did! I bit my upper lip when I tripped and fell from the last step. Sigh, so me---accident prone.

Anyways, after that, I was ok. Cried a bit and soon forgot about it when I could run around with gor gor. Hehehhehee....

Sunday dinner at Marina Square

Crocs sales!

Papa and Mama brought me to Crocs sales at Expo last week and they bought some shoes and clothes for the whole family--mainly for me to be exact. Papa could tell it was a good deal sale and things were a great buy just by looking at his wife, aka, my Mama. Usually, Mama would give up going near a sale section once she sees a crowd. The bunch of don't-stop-me looking women rummaging through trolleys or racks would usually cause Mama to move far far away--not worth the shoving and pushing like ah soh. Worse if I was around to make the shopping close to impossible.
But this time, though they had to queue for about a total of 2 hours just to get in and then pay, it was really worth it (real shopping was less than about 45 mins only). Well, observing Mama's determination, it MUST be worth it! hahahah...And yes, there were shoving and pushing, sigh, these ah sohs....some people like them are here to stay I think. Don't know why the need when they could have just shop politely and made the whole thing more pleasant, right?!
Anyway, as for me, I was happy trying on shoes after shoes, sitting on a shoe box! Brilliant idea Papa had to keep me from running wild.
Top and bottom from Crocs! Peace!
Dancing in front of Barney show. Imitating the actions.

Just me

I love making funny and cheeky facial expressions. My nicknames by Mama are "drama queen" and "copy cat". But you can say I'm just a fun-loving kid. Anything silly, fun, dramatic or extraordinary, I'll wanna be a part of it! Guess I do take after Papa after all?! I saw Papa holding up his phone to take a picture of me, and I just pouted my lips for him! HEheheheheh...
With the tall Christmas tree at Taka. My favourite pose so far, thanks to Mama. I said, "Big tree" holding my arms open wide. And then I continued to say, "Big one!" "Papa house, tree." My smart Mama who always seems like the only person that could decipher my language interpreted it as, "This tree is bigger than the one at Papa's house." Smart Mama! That was what I meant!

Sweet dreams...

For the past week, I have been sleeping with toys or books. These are some of the Hello Kitty toys that Poh Poh bought for me. I must hold them while I sleep! You wouldn't understand. Perhaps, I was dreaming that I was in Hello Kitty land.....hmmm.....sweet fun!

Hello Kitty Craze!

Poh Poh went to Hokkaida and came back with these for me!!!! All Hellot Kitty stuffs! Thanks to Mama, I had been "introduced" to this pretty pink (sometime red, sometimes blue....) sweetie cat. I call her, "Ah Ti!"--Meaning, Hellot Kitty, duh!?
These are the fabulous things I received; mini musical fridge, thermos flask, purse, necklace, cups and saucers, tea pot, hair clip, mirror, watch, T-shtirts, cookie with piggy bank bottle and a Christmas gift that I can only unwrap on Christmas, of course.
I love them all, especially the playset. I had been holding onto the thermos flask with 2 cups all around the house this week. I would ask Papa and Mama to toast, cheers and yum seng with me. Mama said I look like Dian Xiao Er....because I simply refused to let these down and was seriously holding onto them wherever I went. Even when it was shower time! Hahaha...Mama was tempted to hang a towel over my shoulders but she had no time to do so.
I also refused to let these go when I had to nap or go to bed. I had slept with one hand holding the thermos flask, and the other a cup to nap on Friday! The previous obsessions were a mini guitar, Papa's old handphone (must be real one, ok?!) and a new book from my 2nd birthday. Just when Mama thought the weird habit was over, I had a new "love". Wahhhaaaaahahah....
Thank you, Poh Poh for the lovely gifts! HEheheheee....please make Mama more jealous...buy me more!!! Thank you! Thank you!

Cheeky baby!

This photo is long overdue, thanks to Papa!

Mama was shopping at Suntec and needed me to sit in the pram. So she gave me a sticker to distract me.

After a while, she was puzzled why the passer by were looking at me--some laughed, some pointed at me and some gave a frown then smiled.

To her surprise, this was what she found! I stuck the sticker on my nose! I didn't even bother to move a bit when Papa joined us later on. See my cheeky look (it's in the eyes!)?!

1st day of holiday class!

My 1st day at Joyhouse Montessori. It's a holiday programme Mama signed me up for. If it's fun and good, she thinking of signing me up for long term next year.

Playing toys before class started.....can spot me? In pink dress with 2 ponytails.
I was very independent...didn't stick to Nainai. Only when I needed help then I would call her for help. I'm sitting opposite Nainai. After playing, it was Chinese class. Teacher told Papa that it's Chinese today and English tomorrow, and they'll keep alternating. So Chinese teacher sang songs and played ball game with the class.
Impressive because I usually won't play toys at home....I could play on my own there.
But I threw some toys on the floor and the teacher corrected me. (Good for you--Mama)
My back was facing Papa who was taking the pictures.
Papa went with Nainai and me too. But the room was too small for so many adults. Some kids like me were also new. One new kid my age cried alot. I wasn't affected at all, why would I?! So much fun! Papa couldn't go in because it was over crowded. Papa said he was shocked to see the place disorganised.
Kids were supposed to do health check but some sneaked in without one! Mama is praying hard no HFMD kids went through man! And to Papa's horror, guardians or parents need not sign in or out! So anyone can just take the kids away!?
I didn't wanna open my mouth for the teacher to check. So the teacher asked, "What's your name?" And I merely stared at her blankly. AHhahahaa....Don't think she saw alot of my mouth.
Checking my feet for spots.
The whole programme is supposedly 1 and half hours. But I think lesson proper only 30 or 45 mins. The rest of it were taken up by waiting, playing toys and snacking! Hmmm.....Mama is eager to send me to school this Friday so she can take a look. Hopefully, the teachers will let her into the class with me. Though the boss told Mama an adult could accompany for a week, today she said only about 3 days to Papa?!?!? Mama is not impressed with the inconsistency.....But I don't think she's gonna be bothered.....She's plotting on how to show a stern face and just crash the class nonetheless!
Wah, I better pray the teachers be accommodating, if not I may get kick out of class!!!! Somebody, please grab my gangster Mama!
Do you know that the teachers didn't even bother to ask Nainai or Papa for my name?! Papa overheard the teacher asking the boss. And they stumbled on my name Mama sewed onto a towel! Duh?! They could have ask Papa and it could be a good ice breaking with new parents, right!??! Papa was just standing nearby.
Oh and Nainai said there was this paranoid Hong Konger mother. She told the teacher to quickly check a child's temperature when that kid sneezed! And she insisted that 37 degress is at fever range!! My goodness. During snack time, her kid sat next to me, and I let out a cough because I was choked by the snack or something. She immediately picked her kid away! Hmmm....Think she must have had a terrible experience with SARS in Hong Kong??!?!?!???!?!?!? Didn't she know "Singapore's OK!" HAhahahahaaa....Ops, so bad of me.
The narrow entrance at the top of stairway.

Birthday dinner--Lao Beijing, Novena Square

My birthday night was spent with Yeye, Nainai, Papa, Mama, Gugu and Gu Zhang. They ate at Lao Beijing (hmmm...notice I said, "they"). Gugu and Gu Zhang, as usual, my one of my favourite playmates kept me entertained. Or rather, I pestered them alot to play with me.

I would call, "Jack! Jack!" If Gu Zhang wasn't looking at me or tapped on Gugu's hand for her to play with me while she was eating. I simply adore them.

When we were heading out, at the entrance, I insisted that Gu Zhang took photos with me. Even in my family photo, I also wanted Gugu in too! I designated each one to sit at the right spot...ahahhahaa..like I'm the photographer.

Then it was more dancing around as we walked on. Birthdays are fun! Give me more!!

Birthday trip with grams--Singapore Flyers

My Yeye and Nainai brought me to take a ride on Singapore Flyer on 13 Nov, my birthday. This was my 2nd time on this Ferris wheel. Whenever Papa drove passed it, I would call out, "Fair wheel! Fair wheel!"

Yeye got these tickets to Singapore Flyer from Gu Zhang. So he took leave and brought Nainai and me there. I had a good time, as usual, explored around in the cylinder; climbed, walked, ran and even laid down on the floor! Seemed like I had make myself very comfortable, huh?!

Thanks, Yeye and Nainai for an eventful day! Muack!

Words from Mama's heart--Happy 2nd birthday!

Wow, it seems like yesterday that you were only in my arms in the hospital ward. I still remembered that Papa teared with joy when he saw you fresh out from my womb. Always remember that he's the first man that cried for you!

You have been a significant part of my life since you were in my womb till today. Though at times, mama is tried out from work, your running towards me and giving me a big hug and kiss never fail to make my day. Mama wanna thank you for being you. You are all I prayed for when you were in my womb; no joke, God is specific!

Mama loves your smiles, laughter, copy cat actions, dramatic whines, happy feet (dancing), strong tight hugs, kisses with a loud "muack" sound and saying, "I u!" Which means "I love you!"

On this special day, I wish and pray that you'll grow up to be who God has made you to be. And that He's blessings and covering will always be upon you. I also pray that God will grant you wisdom, not just of this world, but of Him. Wisdom to know His way and truth so that you'll always choose to be in His will.

"Lord, I thank you for this precious life that you have given me. Thank you for showing me a small fragment of what Your love means through Evangelia. I am blessed to be a mother. I pray that You'll always watch over her no matter where she is. Keep her always in the shelter of Your wings. Protect her from harm and danger. Grant her wisdom so she can walk in Your way and be the woman that You've destined for her to be. Give her good strong health and most of all, happy always. In Jesus's name I pray and give thanks, amen!"

Happy 2nd birthday, darling! Mama loves you! Jesus loves you too! :*

Playgroup for me!

Mama had signed me up for a holiday programme with Joyhouse Montessori. It's just opposite my house. So Nai Nai can bring me there daily. It's a 1 1/2 hours playgroup programme. I'll be starting class this 17th Nov till 21 Dec! Let's see if I'll enjoy the 5 week sessions. If it's real fun, Mama thought of signing me up for the new intake in Jan 09 till she finds me a childcare or when the need to send me to one arrives--don't know which one comes first.

But for now, I can't wait to have fun in this new class. At least I get to have fun with peers, learn new things and Nai Nai can do her grocery shopping, marketing or house work while I'm away.

Nai Nai can only accompany me for the first week, the lady boss said to Mama. The rest, I should be on my own. But Nai Nai confidently told Mama that I'll only need to take 2 days to settle down! Well, I hope so too!

Mama said it's Montessori programme; mainly the practical life skills, hopefully it's what she thinks it is. She didn't get to see the activities with kids, but the boss showed her around the place when the classes were over. On top of the Monte programme, they also promised to have music & movement, story telling, snack and others. They also provide extra music class every Friday. Hopefully, it's fun so Mama can sign me up for that too!

Bouncing on the bicycle

Trying out my birthday gifts--bicycle & Barney bag

The next day after the unwrapping of gifts, I started to try on some of them. Love to sit on this "bouncy" bicycle that Uncle KS and Aunty Evelyn bought for me.

I have to bounce on it hard enough for it to move forward. Well, being quite under weight myself, I have to bounce extra hard! Hahahhaaa...Think I can only play it well when I'm 3 or something? Now, I'm just as happy rolling the bicycle with my feet. Hehehehe....

I also like this Barney bag that Kow Fu and Kow Mo bought. Have been carrying it around the house. I would say to Mama, "Bag, school, bye!" Meaning: I'm going to school with this bag. Bye!

Hmm...so many people had bought me birthday gifts already. Yeye and Nai Nai bought me a gold bracelet with little cute bears and heart shape. When I shake my hand, the bell will ring...ling ling ling....so fun! I'm so blessed! Oh, you must be wondering what my parents had gotten for me, right?! I'm also wondering.....but they're not giving me yet...waiting for 13 Nov! The actual day! Yipee!!! Can't wait to see it!

My 2nd birthday--BBQ party with friends

Papa and Mama booked a chalet to celebrate my 2nd birthday at Downtown East. Not my actual birthday but they just wanted a small celebration with close friends. Too bad my gugu, gu zhang and poh poh couldn't be there.

I had a great time! Played with Shea Jie Jie, Zach, Elliot & Daniel gor gor. Kow Mo is always good to be around too if you want some fun. She is my unofficial "games mistress!" Taught me to play jumping on pebbled pavement. So the whole night, other than being carried around by my beautiful guests, I also did alot of jumping, running and some dancing. So much fun that I was overly stimulated at night--cried a few times in my sleep. She also decorated the place with Kow Fu's help! Thanks!

Anyways, it's only once in a while I got to be this wild and I'm entitled to it! HEhehehe....Mama and Papa wanna say a big thank you to all who came and gave me gifts. To those who took a super long and frustrating time to find parking lot, thank you for your patience and still turned up despite the crazy parking war! We are really touched. (Aunty Cindy, Uncle BB, Uncle Vic, & I'm sure many more that Mama didn't know--thank you!)

Thank you Aunty Evelyn who came inspite of her food poisoning! Papa and Mama thought that was really touching. She could have stayed home to rest. But she said she needed to come because she missed the 1st celebration already. Hope she's fine now. Please take care!

Thank you to Aunty Su too. She also came even though she was heavily pregnant and BBQ food was out of bound for her now. Hope the curry and bee hoon made it up to her! :)

In fact, if I go on thanking, I'll probably take up the whole blogging space. Hope if I have left out anyone, please don't be offended. (Mama's typing this with her flu bug and she's feeling drowsy liao) So, to ALL my beloved guests, like Aunty Carol, Jill, Beca, Mabel, Pam, Meijiao, Eileen, Grace, Pat, Meiyen, Li Feng & Uncle Wee How, Eric, BB, Ed, KS, Kok Keong......Kow Fu, Kow Mo, Yi Poh Grace, Godma, Gong Gong.....thank you!

Most of all, thank you Yeye and Nainai! Yeye was feeling sick and he still helped with BBQing food, cooked Bee Hoon, helped Nainai with curry and ferrying stuffs. I'm so blessed to have these people who loves me so much to make my party a fun one for me!

I had a super great time! Thank you! Now, hopefully Yeye and Mama's sickness will go away soon....And no one else in the family will be sick for a long time! Amen!
