Chao Kou (Ke) Ai (Darn cute)

Don't ask me why or how. Mama started to have this line from a song ringing in her head one whole day and she just had to sing it out loud. Think she heard this super-duper-cutie-sweet voiced-till-you-can-get-diabetes singer (don't even know her name; not pretty but danced with 2 ugly fat pandas) sang a song like this on TV. Mama might have gotten the lyrics wrong or something, but when she sang it, I just danced anyway!

So cute of me, like the song goes, "Chao Kou Ai, Chao Kou Ai....!" Strictly in Chinese, it should be Ke Ai (as in, cute). But the singer sang as Kou (mouth) Ai. So the "feel" is very hair-standing sweet! And you bet, I don't mind at all, I also sang along with a word or two.....HEhehhee..now it became Mama and my new song that we sing and act cute around the house with.

Let me recall, some of our "billboard" favourites are, "That's the way Ah Ha Ah Ha I like it" (She sings this when I do something right and nice), "We are family" (when we do family hug/kisses)....can't recall some already (partly because Mama's typing this after midnight and she's very sleepy already!).

Family with Kids Cell Group

Papa and Mama had joined a cell group meant for families like us with kids since early this year. Since we joined Grace AOG, we have always wanted to feel belong and blend into this big church. Hard to know people over services on Saturdays or Sundays as I always kept them well busy. Plus, the traffic wardens there can be quite "merciless" with drivers who don't move their cars out of others' way promptly. Well, can't blame them, they're just doing their job.

So finally, we were invited to this cell and was there since it started. So far, I have known Elijah didi and Elizabeth meimei and their parents and Aunty Vivien. It's an unusual cell because the objective of this gathering is catered for families with kids.

So a typical day of cell would be, singing songs with kids (sometimes we use musical instruments), prayers, dads/mums bible study then dads/mums conduct activities with kids, and end off with group prayers. Sometimes the adults just let us free play and they had combined bible study. Not easy though, but so far, it's been manageable as Papa and Mama still took turns to keep an eye on me.

Papa and Mama had found this cell very enriching because the topics for discussion are focused primarily on parenting and marriage. The last discussion was on "Growing kids God's way--Right beginnings."

I wish this cell can go on for as long as possible. I may not know what exactly is going on, but I know I am in the midst of hungry parents who want to know and fulfill their role as parents that God had intended them to. Also, to get support and share experiences relevant to child rearing with one another. Wah, seems like in this current generation of child rearing, it's not like in my grams' time or even older. It's more than shelter or bread and butter. It's what kind of shelter, what brand of bread and butter, I think! Different living standards, cost of living, expectations by bosses/companies, stress levels, ...and many more that had added on as the time passed. No wonder they need support to keep their mind focus on Jesus.
