F1--practise session

I didn't go with my excited parents, of course. It was Uncle KS and his friend that generously gave up their Friday tickets to them that my parents could watch the practise session, without me.

I could only understand "car" when Mama told me they were going to watch racing cars. Anyways, Mama was glad I didn't go, like the other older kids she saw. It was very crowded and jammed. The noise from the "vroom" of cars was unbearable for her head and ears. She had headache throughout the time there and felt nausea. Gosh! I can imagine the noise level. No wonder they had to buy ear plugs.

Mama had one thing to say about the typical Singaporeans and the "ang mohs". Don't get her wrong, she is not trying to "jiak gun tung" (eat potato). Just that in one scenario, you could see a big difference of the 2 cultures.

Mama felt embarrassed that the foreigners had to experience this in Singapore, a country known for its well planned events and friendly people (the latter is yet to verify, perhaps, by locals?!)They were stuck in this lane with 2 groups of people wanting to go in and out, at the same time!! So there was a huge long jam.

And they practically need not moved a muscle to walk ahead, the crowd could just pushed you along (it was by far 10 times more crowded than CNY at Chinantown). And there wasn't any police in sight to guide. Yes, saw some, but they were "chilling" out quietly in a corner--a 'jamless' corner. Only like 2 or 3 of them. Sigh, and when the jam got really bad, with old people and kids, some foreigners shouted, "Move on!"

One thing about them, they were frustrated of the situation, but they didn't let it out at the people they were stuck with. After shouting, they smiled at Papa and Mama. Some even struck conversation with them about the jam, like made-the-best-out-of-the-problem attitude.

Unlike some petty and narrow minded locals, they let it out at the crowd. Frowned at people as if someone forced them into the jam, made that irritating "zxk zxk" sound when they rubbed shoulders, one elder man kept staring at Papa who accidentally knocked his daughter on her back (wah, he thought his daughter was drop dead gorgeous ah!? He didn't see Papa's wife next to him meh!?? :P)and better still, one old couple who stood next to Mama said, "Ah, don't push us hor. We are old people. Cannot fall down one hah." Mama didn't know to laugh or be angry. Her jaw just dropped. What a statement! Yes, they were old and falling down would definitely be bad for them. But hey, that statement sounded as if Mama was gonna deliberately PUSH them down! Gosh!

And when the jam got worse still, one "ang moh" stood up high, Mama couldn't see what or who he was standing on (cos she was surrounded by very tall men), and he literally rose to the occasion. He signalled to the crowd that was coming against them with his arms to move back. And he shouted, "Move that way! Move that way!"

He was trying to police the crowd. Papa applauded him. Now, that's what I called problem solving. On the contrary, the typical locals would just stare at him with that "seow ah him!" look, and continued with their frowns, stares and pushing at one another. Sigh, what an awful sight infront of an international crowd. Shame.

Perhaps, educational system and family values should start to shift. Focus on solving the problem and stop blaming others, I think the former is more productive and produces happier people.

P.S: KS, thanks for the tickets. We enjoyed ourselves! :)Gary's best birthday gift so far!(though he said you forgot about it lah! :P hahahahaaa....no worries, your tickets made up to it liao!

Creative dancing?!

Yesterday, Mama was busy in the kitchen cooking my meals and Papa was cleaning the house. Boring--to me. To make me stayed in the living room and not clung onto Mama or Papa, Papa played the Hillsongs Kids songs again.

So as I was dancing and they were busy doing boring stuffs, Papa suddenly brought into laughter and decided to film me down. I took the bucket that was supposed to be for my sand and water play and placed it on my head. Previously, when Papa did that, I would be irritated and take it out.

But that day, I put it on myself and danced with it as if it was part of the ritual. And of course, after that filming, I got told off for standing on the chair! Kill joy. I was only trying to simulate a stage performance mah!:P

Traditional toys--wind-up toys

Would like to thank Uncle KS and Aunty Evelyn again for buying me 2 wind up toys from Malaysia! Mama had never played with these and Papa was surprised to see such a traditional toy still existing.

As for me, who cares as long as they are toys! I kept asking my parents to wind them up. The roster would peck on the floor as it walked and the mouse's tail would wag as it spun around. So fun. I was intrigued more by the mouse, a mixture of scary feeling, yet thrilling. So it was my favourite (though I pulled out the tail lah!).

Sadly, after playing a few times, it went under somewhere that my parents couldn't find it. Papa swept and mopped the whole house but still couldn't find it!!! Mama teased that a cat had ate it up when I kept asking, "mou soo! mou soo! mou soo!" Hahahahahh....I hope we'll find it soon again. Must be somewhere, I know.

Thanks Uncle KS and Aunty Evelyn! Love the toys, and you both, of course! :)

Papa's birthday--day report

Sorry for the late report on this. I'm a busy little girl you know. :P

Yes, I was telling you my parents went out alone, yes alone without me, to celebrate Papa's birthday in the day. They took leave and went for a meal in Holland V, then bowling at Mt Faber SAFRA. But in between, they squeezed in some time to look for my potential school. For that, I'll let them off.

Mama and Papa had not been going out alone as a couple for a loooooooooooong time and thought that day would be a good one to reminisce the good old days. But well, they were utterly wrong! ahahahaa....At the end of the day as they were going home, they suddenly realized that an outing without me could be so empty! Papa felt uneventful. Mama felt like something was missing. So to sum up--they were lost without me! Hahahahahh....So lost and meaningless that Mama didn't feel like posting those pictures they took. (Also because it's a hassle to download from ph lah!):P

My Papa's 32nd birthday on 25 Sep 2008

Today is Papa's 32nd birthday! I woke up, as usual, the very first one at 8.30am. Mama brought me to take the birthday gift to Papa while he was still sleeping.

I couldn't wait to sing the happy birthday song because I started to clap my hands to indicate the song already. I gave my papa a birthday hug and kiss too. Later that day, my parents spent their day together while Nainai looked after me. Will tell you more in another post what they did without me! :(

At night, Yeye, nainai, gugu and uncle Jack joined in to celebrate with Papa too. We went to (er...I can't recall the name of the restaurant now, but it's another one of Tung Luk's branches lah)Novena Square. While they were eating, I ate Koropo (not sure about spelling--crackers)and biscuits and nibbled on some of the food they ate too. But after a while, I was "unleashed" again!

I ran round the table and followed one of the friendly waitresses around. She wanted to carry me, but too bad, I hate to be restrained, I preferred to follow her around. When I was going out, I waved and said, "Bye bye!" to all I met along the way. Mama couldn't stop me after that as I continued to do so with strangers outside the shops and toilet! Hehehehehe.....yes, me again--the social butterfly.

Papa's here's something from my heart (well, or at least Mama knew I would say this if I can talk better!).

"Papa, you're the best Papa I could ever ask from God. God has chosen you to be my Papa so that I can see a little reflection of my heavenly Father. Thank you for all your love, sacrifice and selflessness, because of you, I am a happy child today. Though I would feel sad when you discipline me from time to time, I know deep down you still love me.

If not, you wouldn't be giving me so many piggy back rides, cuddles, hugs, kisses and toys! So on your special day today, I wanna pray that God will bless you with more than you could ever imagine or ask for. I pray that God in His abundance and His love for you will shower you with wisdom; so that you can guide our family to higher grounds, blessings; so that you can bless God and others back even more, love; so that you have the capacity to forgive and faith; so that you will never fear but trust that God is always with you no matter what you are going through.

I love you, Papa! Muacks!:**"----Love your little bao bei

P.S: Oh yes, Mama knows one of your dream gifts is an Iphone. Too bad, Mama need to save up more to give you one. But here's a virtual one! :P

Aunty Jessie and Uncle Weilong's wedding @ OCC

I went to Aunty Jessie and Uncle Weilong's wedding at the Orchid Country Club some Saturdays ago. As usual, I was like the social butterfly other than the love for running around.

At the banquet table, I refused to sit still and worse, was terrified by that stupid loud and scary introduction music for the 1st dish that I clung onto my parents for dear life and cried. My parents didn't have a peaceful time to catch up with many of their friends at Herald because of me :P.

When I wasn't afraid (talk about unpredictable kids), I would fuss to get down from high chair and walked around other guests' tables and socialise. Mama really was amazed by my friendliness. She didn't know most of them herself! I went to some pretty jie jies and shook their hands, hi five them, baby talked to them and flashed my cheeky smiles here and there.

Mama said I looked more like the bride of the night, or the mother of the bride! Hahahaaa....Well, I think this is me.

Oh! And I remember the fun Uncle Eric. At first I was afraid to go near him, but when I wanted to play with him, I pulled Mama towards his direction and wahla! After the ice was broken, I was "unleashed"! Wahhahahahaa.....

Uncle Eric is so much fun. He is fun! He is very tall, so when he carries me, I was very high up!

I also saw Aunty Eva sang on stage and was absolutely mesmerized by her. Mama used to listen to one of the songs she sang repeatedly when I was in her womb. So whenever Mama said, "Aunty Eva", my eyes would lit up. So she brought me nearer to the stage to watch her sang that night.

When she was done and left the stage, I was SO VERY disappointed that I kept saying in disbelief, "No more! No more?!" And I made Mama followed her. When Aunty Eva carried me, I looked at her face with such adoration! (My mama is not exaggerating here) My gaze was kept glued to her face as she was talking to Mama. By the way, Aunty Eva was also from Faith like Mama. Mama knew her 2 brothers who are also Kow Fu's good friends in church. Talk about small world :)

When Mama needed to go, I was reluctant! As Mama walked away, I kept looking back saying, "VA!? VA?!" Aunty Eva, I'm your die hard fan

!

At Raffles City--Mama's gathering with friends

This post is very much overdue! Many weeks ago, Mama had to meet Grandaunt Beca and Aunty Lynne to buy bridesmaid dress for Aunty Lynne's wedding. Uncle Siak joined them too! Hahaha....but he wasn't the bridesmaid of course! He just happened to be nearby and wanted to catch up.

Papa and I tagged along when they were done. To help Mama chat better (in peace and quiet) with her friends, Papa "sacrificed" his time to look after me. Brought me to walk around the mall.

I saw some very comfy looking couch and, boy, it was definitely comfy! I looked like I was reflecting on life, don't I!?

Papa was trying to take these photos, but I was trying to do the same too! aahahahaha...

Dancing with the softies

No one taught me this, but I just had a sudden inspiration as I was dancing to Hillsongs Kids songs. I went to grab teddy and piggy and danced with them! Boy, my parents were so glad they were spared the "torture" of excessive dancing with me! hahahahaha....

Bei Bei baby

I always like Papa to "bei bei" (piggy back) me. If I want him to carry me on his shoulders I will say, "high high".

Last night, I took the "baby" (doll) and said to Mama, "Bei bei". Then after a while, I wanted Mama to help me put "baby" on my shoulders, "high high". I'm a little Papa!

At Aunty Meiyen's house

I went Aunty Meiyen and Uncle Wee How's house. Mama and Papa went there for steamboat and caught up with their friends. I had so much fun with Zach and Elliot gor gor playing in the ball-tent, container truck and car. Mama could see I like Elliot gor gor (Z gor gor was sleeping then) because I kept sticking close to him and kissed him while he was watching cartoon!HAhahaha... Elliot gor gor also shared with me his toys.

When I was on my bed about to sleep, Mama asked me if I liked to play with gorgors, I said, "truck, share share, ball, fight (because Z gor gor was doing Kung Fu fighting infront of me) and Z (meaning, Z gor gor).

But Mama was tired out in the throughout the night because I was overly stimulated; I cried and screamed for Mama countless times! Poor Mama, sorry!
